About Us

The Makan Post

Food is awesome. Agreed? So why not dedicate a whole blog just talking about it? Yes, that’s what’s happening here, people!

Anyway readers,  you’re  about to undergo an adventure through the waters of local and international cuisine. A journey that will, I’m not making promises here, tantalize your tastebuds, and leave you wanting to take a trip out from your cozy, warm bed, (I think we all know where you’re hiding under) and into the colorful world of food. There will be two separate accounts of food hunting happening, one which will be on the local food in Kuching/Malaysia, and the other, on UK/western countries, bringing to you readers the best of these diverse food cultures and its evolution.

About the writers

Sharon Lim

Local bred and born in the land of hornbill, loves desserts but shouldn’t really, cause going to the gym is hard work. Likes to watch cooking channels, the competition ones are nice but feels so sorry for whoever is under Gordon Ramsey’s wrath. (Okay, meanness aside, his insults are hilarious…don’t judge me..)
Likes to experiment with food, but be warn, the side effects after consumption might be dangerous. Has this thing for Chris Hemsworth, (one word: biceps), loves movies, reading books, writing, FOOD, and daydreaming about an impossible future that will never happen.( it includes marrying a lord, and owning a ton of restaurants, but lets face it, it ain't happening.)

On The Makan Post, I'll be enlightening you with food places in the UK, so be ready for an exciting adventure with me as we discover 'em!

Jolynn Joelle Chin

Hello fellow readers! My name is Jolynn, and I'm a pianist, performer, and a musician. But amidst all the involvement in the arts scene, I love discovering, and exploring food, tasting different flavors and being able to see the cultures and history that goes behind the story of the food we eat. I also love cooking and baking during my free time, learning and discovering the use of different spices, herbs and ingredients that goes in to creating such a masterpiece we call, cuisine. Thus, the creation of this food blog.

Hope you enjoy what we put into this food blog but hope it won't make  your stomach growl too much.. especially if you happen to be reading it during midnight but oh well, there's always room for supper right? (jokes),  and also, hope this blog would be able to help you and your friends with the very famous question we all know, but also, hate to answer, which is: ‘where to eat ah?’
Cheers!
